Chapter History

We are Gentlemen Beyond Reproach.

Phi Sigma Phi – Epsilon Lambda Chapter is a social Fraternity at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. As a social organization, our goal is to promote our brotherhood within the campus community. This chapter strives to teach Honor, Justice and Wisdom while incorporating it into each of our lives along with the ideals and beliefs of Phi Sigma Phi. We are a fraternity united by diversity and filled with brothers who teach each other to discover their best within themselves while encouraging others to do the same.

In order to promote ourselves as a non-profit, we operate several chairs that help us collect funds for fraternal expenses and external organizations.
The Epsilon Lambda chapter of Phi Sigma Phi fraternity was formed when Robert Barrett, who had previously associated at Eastern Michigan University’s Lambda Chapter transferred over to the University of Michigan – Dearborn. He was unimpressed with the current status of fraternities and wanted to start an organization that would break the mold of traditional fraternities. Robert spent the Spring semester of 2007 gathering old high school friends, and leaders from other student organizations to rally around his cause. The National Fraternity chose to Colonize the group of students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn on October 20, 2007. The colony then started to attract the attention of various seniors and developing student leaders and held its first recruiting class and group philanthropy, Cards for Kids, the following semester. Phi Sigma Phi National Headquarters decided to Charter the group on January 10th, 2009.
