Chapter History

The Phi Mu Chapter of Phi Sigma Phi National Fraternity began its journey 30 years ago, at the start of Phi Sigma Phi. Located on the campus of Concord University, then Concord College, the Phi Mu Chapter has seen many points of interest in its history. Our men have served the student body in various capacities of student government, leading academic and service organizations, and even serving as faculty at CU. We have won multiple Greek Week and Greek Sing titles as well as being named Academic Fraternity of the Year and having a member named Academic Fraternity Man of the year on multiple occasions.Throughout the years, we have led efforts to raise funds for cancer treatment of a fellow student as well as leading a toy drive for Toys-for-Tots when a local facility was robbed. Between our efforts and the efforts of one of our local alumni, we raised nearly $10,000 worth of cash donations and gifts-in-kind for the organization.

Nationally, three National Vice Presidents have hailed from the Phi Mu Chapter. Our chapter has been awarded the Most Improved Chapter and the David Prueher Efficiency Award, and chapter members have been awarded the Harry Parker Phi Sig of the Year Award, the President’s Gavel, and the John Sandwell Staff Service Award.  We believe it is important to give back to our campus, our community, and our fraternity.
